I made this the 1st time with bone in, skinless chicken breasts and wasn't able to marinate as long as I would have liked (1 hour and still it turned out fantastic. Very juicy & moist. The sauce was amazing after I tweaked by adding a little maple syrup (I think I had too much lemon juice. I will continue to add this though as it was great, perfect blend of tart & sweet. A wonderfully vibrant dish for a warm dinner on the deck ! I will make again this w/e but cube my boneless chicken and skewer to serve as appetizer.

I prepared the marinade and placed chicken overnight in refrigerator in it. The grilled chicken had a mild flavor but not as muvh flavor as we like. I had trouble with the fennel seeds, and ended up rough chopping them.

The basil vinaigrette is really tasty - don't skip that part of the recipe. As has been noted, the recipe makes about twice as much as you will need for the chicken. I would go ahead and make the vinaigrette as is and use for salads or pasta, very fresh and tasty.

I have made this dish twice now, and it is so good. The marinade is easy to put together, and I usually let the chicken sit in it for several hours before grilling. I also butterfly the chicken breasts down the middle before putting them in the marinade. The flavor of the chicken is delicious and perfect for a summer evening. We use a lot of basil in our cooking, and we like the dressing. We have found in the two times we made this dish that the dressing is a little too lemony in flavor for our taste, so the next time we make this, we will cut back on the lemon. Otherwise, we woudn't change a thing, and we will definitely make this again!

I agree with several other reviewers - double the dressing! It's an incredible sauce that would go great with other foods. You'll want it around for other meals. I was hesitant to include the fennel seeds (way too hard to crush/grind, but it really added a very tasty, different flavor. I'll definitely use this recipe again soon!!

Wow! I was so amazed when I tried this chicken! The flavors are incredible. My sauce was very lemony but I loved the flavor! This is so easy to fix, perfect for a busy weeknight! I had trouble crushing my fennel seeds. I don't own a coffee grinder(to crush the seeds and do not want to buy one for one use! I tried a few different things but chopping with a knife worked the best! This is going into my favorite recipe file! We are trying to eat less carbs and this is perfect and healthy!
    Thanks Giada!

This was the best tasing chicken and dressing that I have ever had. The color of the dressing was a beautiful green that not only looked great drizzled over the chicken but tasted out of this world. I am thinking of other things I can use it with. This is a simple recipe that is impressive and delicious!

This is the best chicken ever!! Chicken is normally bland but this sauce makes it very tasty. You should triple the dressing, otherwise its delicious!!

This recipe is full of flavor and very easy to make. I made the marinade the night before and the dressing in the morning before I my company arrived. My dressing tasted better in the afternoon than in the morning and I think its because the ingredients had time to meld together. At first it was very lemony, but the basil flavor really came through later in the day. I will make this again, for sure.

We made this with chicken pieces and most recently with a whole chicken on the barbeque. I poured the sauce on the leftover whole chicken and sliced it for sandwiches for several days on wheat with lettuce. Yum! It is guilt free as well as delicious!!! Thanks, Giada
