Easy recipe and a real crowd pleaser. I lessened the amount of lemon and added a few drops of red wine vinegar to the vinagrette. Also, if you have a Trader Joes nearby, they have prepared lentils in the refrigerator section which save you the step of cooking the lentils. It came out delicious!

While this will not become my "go to" salad recipe, it was very tasty. I used French Lentils (1 cup uncooked makes about 3 cups cooked, made the vinagrette as directed and put in 1/2 a chopped red pepper. That was the extent of me following the base recipe. I didn't have the remaining ingredients so put in pine nuts, grape tomatoes, red onion, craisens and some fresh baby spinach. I also drizzled balsamic vinegar over each serving. It is a nice change from the usual salads and is healthy. I served it with grilled chicken breasts.

This recipe is a crowd pleaser every time! I have made it at least a dozen times and it always seems to surprise me just how good it is. The lentils, onion and grapes compliment each other so perfectly, it's a combo that you wouldn't think would work, but it is unbelievably scrumptous! I make it for lunch and I serve it on a bed of arugula salad that's lightly dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. You will not be able to put your fork down!

Ugh! I am so bummed with the way this tastes. I obviously missed the reviews saying the flavors in this dish don't meld well. I made this the night before an office pitch in so it would have plenty of time for the flavors to develop.
This morning, it tasted very bland. I added some more onion and dressing and salt and pepper. My coworkers must have thought the same thing because most of this was left untouched.
The flavors seemed very muddy to me, not fresh like I was expecting. I added some red wine vinegar which helped tremendously. Maybe it just masked some of the bland flavor. Whatever it did, I can at least eat this now. Won't be making again.

I watched Giada make this recipe on television and it looked so appealing, but I have to agree with a few of the other people who commented that the ingrediants do not blend effectively to make this a tasty salad. I took it to a party and people barely took any of it. Something is very lacking, and I did everything exactly as described. Unfortunately, this is not very good.

i loved it! i used 1cup lentils, only use petite green lentils, cook according package directions. This gives enough dressing, flavoring taste and moisture.
