Once you eat these Italian S'Mores on a camping trip (or at home, you will never, ever go back to eating the plain ol' graham cracker S'Mores again.

I make the little butter/sugar toasted breads and store them in an air-tight container before a camping trip.
Hide them if you want to use them as the base for S'Mores, they are highly addictive as a quick snack.
Don't ever bother with plain S'Mores again!!!!

I made these s'mores just the other night and I used the nutello instead of the candy bar as I am sure i will never find them in the part of Iowa I live in. These were the best things I have ever eaten!! I toasted the baguette in my toaster oven because I didn't want to heat up my kitchen at 9:30 at night and they turned out perfectly. I sprede the nutello on top and then popped them back into the toaster oven under the broiler just until the 'mallows were crunchy and gooey!! Great late snack to eat while watching tv. They were neither too hard nor too soft, just perfect.

I thought this was very good and you have to be open minded in trying new things.
It's not as sweet as a graham cracker smore is. I went searching for the brand of chocolate she recommended. I found a store that had the whole line of bars.
OMG!!! I'm addicted, it's THE BEST chocolate bar. The dark chocolate ones are great too! The chocolate bar is what made this smore work!!!! You MUST find this brand of chocolate.

The flavor was good--not too sweet, but I made the crostini several hours ahead and they turned out WAY too hard and crunchy.

I love the traditional (Amer! I always use Nutella - I thimk it's older than I am. LOL!
But, Michael C's rocks 'It S'mores' - he uses biscotti! Sometimes, for the choco in his, I melt Toblerone.

    No offense Giada, sorry!
