We've been making these at Christmas for three years now and everyone loves them. They've become our house holiday libation. I mix them individually, using 1/4-1/3 fruit mixture and the rest sparkling water, champagne or Prosecco. I squeeze a little wedge of lime into each drink and then drop in the peel. Those who find them too sweet, just use less juice/simple syrup mixture. Sometimes I make these in champagne flutes without ice, sometimes in tall glasses over ice. The fruit/simple syrup mixture keeps well in the fridge in a pitcher so you can mix them at will. If you have a Sodastream to make your own sparkling water, these are also really economical.

I made this last year for Christmas and it was a big hit! I added Citrus Vodka to it. I have made this several times since then and added other vodkas such as cranberry and pomegranate vodka. Enhances the overall flavor.

I reviewed this already. I love the original. It is very easy to make a diet version, though. Instead of making simple syrup I substitute Stevia in the Raw (same amount as sugar but it doesn't have to be boiled. It dissolves instantly. It saves time and calories. My kids love this version, too.

This is a great drink for serving at parties or just on a hot day. I recommend this drink to everyone.

When I saw the episode on which Giada made this, I was very confused. She advised her viewers to add the sparkling water to cut down on the juice/calories. However, this recipe calls for simple syrup, which we all know is pure sugar (a.k.a. calories. It seems to me like it defeats the purpose.
Usually, I love Giada's recipes, but this one (which, I must add, is not really a recipe because it is so simple is not a hit in my book.

I used a no-sugar-added cranberry pomegranate juice and a bottle of inexpensive champagne - served it for a girls' brunch and it was a huge hit! I can't wait to throw another party so I can make it again. Loved it and so did everyone there!

II took the advice of the individuals who said it was too sweet and make half the amount of simple syrup.. Also, instead of adding lime juice at the end, I add the zest of one lime to the simple syrup. Happy cooking!

I made this for Thanksgiving 09 and it was very well received. However, when making it, I tried it without the Prosecco and found it was too sweet so I added more cranberry and pomegranate juice to give it more tartness, and it was perfect. I put sprite in people's glasses for those who didn't want to drink any alcohol and it was very good too!

I used a pomegranate and cranberry juice. Unfortunately, I could not find the drinks unsweetened, except in this combo. But, it was delicious! My husband and I are in love with these! Can't wait to have guests over to share these!

my sister-in-law made these for thanksgiving cocktails and they were very well received. they are very sweet and she used asti-sparkling white wine- as a sub for the sparkling water. for those who think it is too sweet, maybe use less simple syrup, but i found them to be delicious, refreshing, and a definite crowd pleaser. will serve them at my next gathering.
