I made these for my fiance and they were really good and moist. I loved the ginger frosting for these. Will make again.

I love carrot cake. But these cupcakes are beyond heavenly! So moist, rich and flavorful! So glad I caught your show, Saturday morning, and can't wait to see what else you will add your "spice" to.

These cupcakes are fantastic - so mildly spiced yet distinctly unique! Thanks for a wonderful recipe! Check for doneness after 18-19 minutes. One complaint: the frosting recipe is double what you actually need!

Janet - You are a natural and I can't wait to watch every week to learn more and more fun and new spice recipes from you! I'm so glad FN is giving us a creative show like this.
These cupcakes are so light and you can really taste the carrots, pineapple and the hint of five spice. I loved seeing this spice used in a sweet application. I use it a lot as a rub for grilled meats and in chicken salad. Yum. Janet's store, Savory Spice Shop, is luckily in my home town. You can buy their fabulous Chinese Five Spice, and the spices Janet uses in all her recipes, online at: www.savoryspiceshop.com

Absolutely Loved, Loved, Loved the show!!!! Can't wait until next week to get more great recipes and advice on spices. Hope to make the carrot cupcakes soon. I was always afraid to use too much ground ginger, but these sound wonderful!

Your show was too late coming. It's about time FN really spiced things up with these great ideas. Many cooks out there don't know so many of the available spices and how to use them. You are a joy to watch and am looking forward to many of your other recipes. If I may suggest using lavender in recipes and even making homemade liquors using different spices and herbs. What a treat that would be. Can't wait for the next show.

My boyfriend and I saw the show this morning and thought that these sounded wonderful. We were right. They were truly great. I added a bit more pineapple than it called for and still felt like it was a bit overwhelmed, but thats just because I love pineapple. Really, no need to change anything in the recipe. I love the show and the concept. I look forward to the network expanding the show a bit, and really diving deep into spices and how to best use them.

Can't wait to make all of these recipes. I watched the show this am after seeing the advertisement for it yesterday. One of my favorite shops in the Denver area is Savory Spice Shop. I went to Whole Foods this afternoon and bought all the ingredients for these recipes. Welcome to the Food Network. I loved the show.

Give us more, more and more food science behind the spices. We've all seen plenty of "Mix this, pour this" and what have you, but we need to know more about what the hek these spices are really all about.
Thanks!
