This review is for Melissa rather than the recipe, which I have already printed and am ready to try. Although I liked both Melissa and Jeffrey the best, I think that Food Network made the absolute right decision here. I can relate to Melissa. I need those quick and easy recipes. Even if it isn't 5 minutes, and it is 15 minutes, that's okay. I want family friendly food that is quick and easy. The only thing I'd like to see are "low fat and/or low calorie" alternatives so that I can enjoy the recipes myself without feeling guilty! Congrats Melissa. Thank you Food Network.

Both my husband and I were rooting for you from day one! So thrilled you won.
Have grown kids, teenagers and a 2 year granddaughter who come for dinner at least once a week. Looking for recipes to suit all tastes. This is perfect! Even my husband remembered the 4 easy steps. Trying your recipe tomorrow. Our granddaughter loves to help cook, your tips are great for getting kids involved. Thanks. Can't wait for more Survival tip recipes!

My daughter and I were THRILLED to see Melissa win! It is so good to see someone who was so obviously not respected by some of the other contestants just because she didn't go to culinary school. Her steadfast faith in herself and her abilities were a real inspiration to me and my daughter. This may sound hokey, but she really inspired us on a deeper level than just cooking and THAT is a really big deal to us. It was refreshing to see someone get ahead based on their actual abilities and performance, rather than from trying to play up to the judges or by putting others down (like some of her competitors did to her, to further their own agenda (win the contest. The judges decision showed us that integrity DOES matter (and we agree!.
Ok, on to the recipe. WE LOVE IT! (of course. How perfect is this as a basic, easy meal... and with so many variables open to us... I am loving it!!! My daughter and I have discussed wishing The Food Network would give us a Cooking 101 program that is perfect for us junk food addicts trying to start cooking at home with the very basics and go from there. I feel this recipe fits the bill so perfectly! Why was I not surprised Melissa was the one who provided it? We're now fans and can't wait to see what's next!
Pssst... we love Mexican food Melissa :
Again, thank you soooo much for choosing Melissa to have her own show. We can't wait to watch her and put her recipes into use!!

My wife is a stay at home mom of 4 kids under the age of 5. We?ve seemed to notice that large families are not as common as they once were. As a result, I think it?s oftentimes difficult for many to understand just how hectic and chaotic meal times can be. My wife and I are always looking for quick and easy tips to help make meal time exciting, a team effort and more flavorful. It was wonderful to finally see someone that we can directly relate to. We absolutely cannot wait to see your upcoming shows and recipes.

Both Jeffrey and Melissa were great, but all I kept thinking is..."If she doesn't win, her recipes are lost to me forever!" When she came out with this recipe I was SOLD!!! Quick, easy, delicious and simple, that's my kind of cooking. I have three men in my house, two of which are teens and they LOVE to eat. I'm a busy mom who is passionate about family dinners and Melissa will be a welcome addition to our family table! Woo hoo!!!
