I had trouble with the cigars as well. So I tried using plantains instead. They worked better. It still took more than 5 mins though. I did about 10 and they came off the paper and I was able to shape them, but they were a little spongy texture. Maybe longer in the oven would make them crispier. Good luck.

I also couldnt get the cigars to turn out properly and they tasted like a banana disaster so I scrapped the rest of the project.

so i attend the NYRS for pasrty.
For my final my 3 ingredients where Banana, Coconut and Rum..
So I thought this would be great.

the banana cigars dont work.fruit puree that is lines thin on a sheet and cooked at a low temp for a few hours.. You get a fruit roll up type thing, so I give a low rating for that.

creme brulee came out great. As far as the other rating, if made properly the eggs will not scramble. and you must not cool too quickly after you take it out of the oven or it will scramble even if you do everything else right.

the fruit salsa is well you cant really mess that up..

I'd like to visit the planet on which this recipe actually works. First off, 325 is not hot enough to brown the bananas in 5 minutes. Or 15 minutes. The bananas never set up enough to be able to roll them into any shape at all. The creme brulee came out kinda like coconut scrambled eggs. Definitely odd. The salsita is the only thing that came out somewhat normal, but it's pretty hard to ruin fruit. I consider myself a pretty good cook, but this recipe showed me who was boss. Good luck.
