This turned out to be a very easy recipe and produced a scrumptious cake. BTW, you can get devonshire cream (or double devon cream at Whole Foods.

This cake is absolutely marvelous! It is a dense cake with a strong chocolate flavor that is not very sweet - just what I was looking for. I served it with clotted cream - just perfect. A little goes a long way, great for serving a party of people. The recipe completely fills a 9 inch cake pan. I received compliments from all around the table. I will make this cake often.
