I used my own crust recipe, and loosely followed this filling and somehow put it together to make pretty much the best pie ever.
Really good and simple.

I used my own recipe for the crust, so I can't rate that, but the filling was the best I have ever tasted. It had just the right sweetness and consistency. The perfect apple pie. Thank you very much for this delicious recipe!

I baked this pie for the first time a couple of weeks ago...my husband, who does not particularly like apples in their raw state, absolutely loved it! We loved it so much in fact, that I have made this pie FOUR times in the last two weeks. I added about four tablespoons of apple sauce instead of butter and the end result was even yummier!

I wanted a quick recipe to use up a bushel of Mountain apples I was given. This one seemed to fit the bill. I have to admit I did not use the crust recipe but purchased a Pillsbury roll out crust. I did use the filling recipe with the exception of using Red Mountain apples from NC and I don't measure anything exactly. But the pies (the first apple pies I have ever made although I am an avid cook came out great. Now everyone wants one!! So in the past two days I have made 5 pies!! They are fun and extremely delicious. I have more people wanting these pies now!! Excellent!!

I've NEVER made a pie before, but this turned out wonderfully and I got lots of compliments on Thanksgiving!!! I had to cook it for 10-20 extra minutes and topped it with cinnamon and sugar - yum! I used golden delicious because I like the flavor the best. Very easy, although labor-intensive. Not bad for a first-timer!

This is a wondeful recipe. The crust was light and flaky and the apple mix is perfect! Will do again!
