    This is the first time I have tried making creme brulee and this recipe was definitely easy and delicious. I substituted 2 tsp. vanilla for the vanilla bean and it was fine but next time I think I'll splurge for the real thing. I also poured hot water out of the tap around ramekins before baking. It compared to the most wonderful creme brulee I've ever had at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.

    I made this for my girlfriend and we both thought it turned out to be better than the local fine dining's creme brulee. It is well worth the effort in making this and I hope all those who make this will enjoy the simple pleasures of custards.

    I was very nervous about making the Creme Brulee. But when the recipe came together so easily and I received raves from my children and grandchildren, I will never use another recipe other then this one.
