I have made this dish several times and there is never much left over (I triple the size. Extended family requests that I bring this dish to bbq outings.

This has to be, by far, the best baked beans on the planet. I make these for every barbeque and this version replaced the recipe my mom make while growing up. Even she had to concede that they arethe best.
I am usually not a fan of barbeque beans, preferring sweet maply baked beans instead but was oh so pleasantly surprised at this delicious and balanced recipe.
I came back today with the intent to print another recipe sheet as my original sheet is crumpled and difficult to read.
Thank you for this recipe.

Did these in the slow cooker for 4 hours and they were delicious with bbq baby back ribs, cornbread, and coleslaw! Am making again for our Memorial Day bbq.

I served them at a big dinner with flank steak and they were a hit.
The smokey flavor with the sweet was very nice. I didn't have molassas on hand so I used maple syrup and it was great.

Easy and delicious -- truly sweet and smoky, just the way I like them. There is something about the flavor that reminds me of the beans my dad used to make by cooking them all day in the crock pot.

This turned out really well.My family consider themselves baked bean connoisseurs, and they were mightily impressed with my version of this recipe. I added a little chorizo sausage to the bacon, gave it a little Southwestern splash!

I mixed my beans (canned kidney and northern, doubled the recipe, fried the bacon, onion and peppers, then put it all in my crock pot for about 4 hours on high. Fantastic!! My in-laws happened to drop by around dinner time and this was a great recipe to be experimenting with. The adults loved it (my mother-in-law asked for the recipe, the kids...not so much (must be the onions and peppers--the adults favorite part.

I made the beans as directed and baked in the oven for 30 minutes. The beans were still crunchy!
