This recipe is excellent whether sauteeing or grilling au poivre filet mignon or NY cut strip.
I have used a slight variation for more than fifteen years in my restaurant and it has stood the test of time for a simple yet deliciously appealing dish. I would add a garnish or some kind but otherwise it is excellent and I will serve it tonight with grilled vegetables and seared tuna as a starter with a piquant sauce to my step-son on his 27th anniversary.

I have only prepared the steak, not the potatoes, but it gets rave reviews from friends and family! I modify it by using chicken broth and ground green peppercorns (1/3 the volume of peppercorns packed in brine because the peppercorns are hard to find in my city. The chicken broth gives it a lighter flavor, very very very good recipe!

I made this last night for my boyfriend...I added the peppercorns with the mushrooms but they still were not cooked well enough. I would like to try it again adding them in with the shallots and garlic. the sauce was definitely a disappointment, especially based on the raves it got here.

I tried this recipe for my hunny on Valentine's Day, (since we couldn't get a babysitter for our 4 young boys, but I was glad as it turned out this tasted just as good as going out to our favorite expensive French restaurant!!! I then made this for company and they are still talking about it! I highly recommend making this dish!!!

This was a great dish, I made it for myself while my boyfriend was out of town, and boy did he miss out! Really great sauce, but is it me or does the recipe NOT tell you when to add the peppercorns???? I added them with the mushrooms and it was still great! I will be making this again for sure!

The steak sauce is nice, my husband liked it and told me I could make it again. Its easy to make too. I would rather make it on my own than buy in the store. The veggie salad was excellent. I will difinately be doing that again. The feta and dill is a great combo. The potato fries were okay if you like fries. I didnt like the dipping sauce for them. I would rather use katchup.

I recently tried this based mostly on the reviewers recommendations. The steak itself was fine being a pretty standard preperation. The sauce that everyone raved about I found rather ordinary. It added a great deal of time to the preperation and not that much to the meal.

Very flavorful dish. The mushroom, peppercorn, Dijon sauce takes this steak dish over the top.

I would gladly have spent a tidy sum for this in a restaurant and might very well be the best steak meal I have ever made!!!
