Great recipe! I could not find the chocolate extract, so I used coco powder instead. The office loved the cookies. They were soft and chewy. The flavors of the orange and maple create a different taste that leaves people wondering. I could not find the kisses so I used the Dove candies with the caramel center. I do reccomend freezing the candy before hand and putting them in a food processor just to break them up, for better distribution in the cookie. I am ditching my old chocolate chip recipe for this one.

I was really worried that there would be too much going on in these cookies. I'm still not sure if there is or not, but they are sure delicious. I couldn't find the chocolate extract like most everyone here, so I used vanilla instead. I thought the orange flavor was lovely! This is definitely one of my top ten favorites.

I loved this cookie soooo much!!!! I did make a couple modifications, though. I formed the cookie dough around the caramel kisses, so it did not drip as much. Also, I could not find chocolate extract, so I used tahitian vanilla. Seriously, a great alternative to the plain ol' chocolate chip, and was loved by all.

I am a huge choc. chip cookie fan and I was a bit dissapointed with this reciepe. I did make some substitutions that might be the cause. I omitted the orange extract and I used peanut butter filled hershys kisses rather than the caramel filled. I thought that the maple was over powering in this recipe (not a huge maple fan, but thought that I would try it anyway... I think that I will try them again without the maple. They did get pretty good reviews though.

These were yummy. Made the following changes: Creamed butter and sugars together w/o melting butter. Used vanilla rather than maple extract and choc. liquer instead of extract. Used orange extract as called for. So your caramel kisses dont leak, FREEZE them. Formed with cookie scoop, pushed single kiss into center and rolled into slightly flattened balls. Solved all probelems discusses by previous reviewers.

An outstanding creation, Saptosa! Chocolate Extract is unavailable in
my area so I substituted using Chocolate Liqueur. Also, I flattened 1-1/2 TBS of dough into a circle and placed one caramel-chocolate candy in the center and rolled into a ball. This eliminated the gooey mess after baking. Next time, I will try less white sugar because I think 1 cup was too sweet.

Well, a disclaimer, I did make a few adjustments, so you can call it the same recipe or not! But I've been trying lots of chocolate chip recipes in the last several months looking for a "best," and this one's getting rave reviews.

My changes in ingredients: I haven't found chocolate extract, so I use vanilla (along with the maple and orange. Although it was yummy with the caramel kisses, it is messy (even with silpat mats, and the cookie is rich and sweet enough without them. I'm also not a big fan of pecans in my chocolate chip cookies, so I omit them.

My changes in technique: I cream the butter and sugars the traditional cookie way, rather than melt them together. And since I omitted the kisses, I don't bother chilling the dough before scooping and baking.

Love the depth of flavor (with the three extracts. Love the texture (with the oats and the mini chips and the cream. You go, Saptosa!
