I change up most recipes to fit my tastes, but made this one exactly as written. This is a full dinner, no need to add any sides. If you have never cooked the rice noodles like this, be sure to have a very large pan, they puff up and make a nice bed for the salmon and add some crunch to the salad. Next time I might add a little red bell for color. Candied Garlic sounds a little strange, but it works well, so don't leave it off. Even if you are not a big garlic fan, give it a try.

and there is no fish oil in the recipe. lol I agree w Kenneth. Fish Sauce, when used sparingly, is a wonderful addition to this (or any recipe.

I don't know where you got fish oil from, but that isn't for cooking, it is a vitamin(omega-3 fatty acid.

So, I havn't made this dish, but many consider me an amazing chef. You should have used fish sauce, not fish oil. Which is very salty with an overpowering taste, but if used correctly can add wonderful depth to a dish. I will make this recipe in the near future and I will come back and change my post if there is something wrong with it.

This recipe was restaurant quality good! I coooked it a bit longer then suggested in the recipe and used less sugar! Too much sweetness..I also added soy sauce to the salmon marinate and marinated the fish in a large ziplock baggy. Yummy!

This is one of my favourite ways to prepare salmon. Besides the wonderful flavours, it's a beautiful presentation . I've never prepared this and not gotten rave reviews. Erin must've bought the wrong ingredient. No fish oil called for in the recipe. It's fish sauce, which is a totally different thing.

This recipe sounded wonderful since we love salmon. I bought all the ingredients and started to prepare the marinade. If you're familiar with fish oil and like it then this recipe is for you, however, when I opened the bottle of the fish oil I was completely turned off! Yuck, it has the most foul smell but I gave it a chance anyway since I thought maybe the other ingredients like ginger, fresh lime juice and garlic might help mask the rancid smell. When all ingredients were blended, the smell from the fish oil was so overpowering that I couldn't possibly pour it over my beautiful cut of fresh salmon. I used a family favorite marinade instead and continued to follow the rest of the recipe of chinese noodles and mixed greens. It was a beautiful dinner and delicious. Everyone loved my marinade of peanut oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, scallions, garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes far better than any gross fish oil...Yikes!
