to the person who gave up because her cupcakes kept falling in the middle, you might be using the wrong cocoa. I note that thsi recipe calls for much more baking soda than powder, that would mean natural cocoa would work best. dutch process cocoa doesn't react well in recipes with baking soda. good luck.

I made this recipe for my little sister's college graduation cupcakes/cake. It was a total success! I used Caramel Bailey's to make icing for them. Delicious!!!!

I have not tried this so I will give it the 4 rating it has as I leave a question. If anyone knows whether the cocoa used was natural or dutch processed, could you please post the correct one. Thanks.

After two failed attempts at making cupcakes out of this batter I gave up. The flavor was fantastic but something is off in the recipe... I am a stickler about my technique, but these kept sinking terribly in the middle! Maybe this works better as a cake but I'm definitely not going to waste any more time or ingredients trying.

I didnt know what to expect from this cake when I saw that it used a whole cup of coffee, but to my suprise, it was great. The best chocolate cake ever. I made it for client and they loved it. Very moist and delicious. The coffe doesnt overpower the chocolate, it just accentuates it. I strongly reccommend this cake.

I had one of Michelle's cakes at a friends wedding a few years ago. I normally do not like wedding cake b/c its dry and tastless. I literally had 2 pieces and asked my friend WHO made this! Let me just say I was excited to find this recipe on here b/c I have been searching for a recipe that would stand up to that cake for TWO YEARS!! I made these in cup cakes and let me just say, EVERYONE who had them told me they were so amazing. It's moist and rich.(The way I like my cake Make this cake...you will never make another one again.
