This chicken was delicious. I used chicken from the farmer's market with the leg/thigh connected with the bone in and skin on. It was beautiful...wish I could post a picture. Served over basmati rice with herbs (Ina's recipe My husband said it was the best chicken he has had since he can remember. MAKE IT!

My family loved this recipe. It is kind of teriyaki meets bbq. Super easy and cheap to make too. Used boneless skinless chicken thighs- they turned out really tender and delicious. Will definitely make this again.

Very good!!! I used boneless and skinless thighs and cut the cooking to 20 min on simmer and 8 min after turning.

FANTASTIC! It's definitely Asian inspired and it's great. The chicken falls off the bone and I wouldn't change anything with the recipe (which I normally tweak recipes. I served it over Arborio rice and it was fantastic. Definitely would recommend.

This recipe is fabulous as is! I wouldn't change a thing and that is unusual for me. I am always tweaking even the best food network recipes. It was my first attempt at braising and I loved it so much I have been pulling every braising recipe I can find!

I really do appreciate the review section of this website almost as much as I do the recipes. With that being said, I used boneless thighs & breasts, omitted the cornstarch, added more red pepper (heaping teaspoon & served it over yellow rice. My family gobbled it up! I just wouldn't call it BBQ but more like a spicy & sweet asian chicken.

My family loved this! I used bone-in, skinless thighs and boneless, skinless breasts and served over rice garnished w/ pineapple and green onions. The chicken was very moist, tender with outstanding flavor. I didn't have quite 1/3 cup of soy sauce so used worcestershire sauce for the remainder. Looking forward to making again.
