We don't use chililes and we eat them with Mexican rice and nacho cheese miixed with the Tejano sauce. The Kids love them

The comments posted were incredibly helpful. I opted for a chipotle pepper in adobo sauce in place of the green chilies ? that seemed to add enough spiciness. I also grated part of an onion & added more of the taco seasoning than called for. They turned out a little larger than I?d expected, about the size of a medium meatball. I turned them halfway through cooking to ensure they we crispy on both sides. We chose to top ours with a dollop of sour cream & salsa with a small side of yellow rice ? it?s a great little lunch! Thanks!

I used Rotel and green onions instead of chiles, and added a little more taco seasoning. I also substituted regular tortilla chips for nacho chips. They taste great! I didn't find that they needed any more flavor or even a dipping sauce. Lots of grease though - I'll probably use a broiler pan next time.

they were alright but seemed a little time consuming for a plain favor

They weren't to hard to make but I thought that they needed a little more flavor. The dipping sauce was good.

Good, but needs a little "something". Don't forget to generously spray the tops of them w/ PAM before baking. The dipping sauce makes JUST enough; it's yummy!

This recipe was great for entertaining the young ones. I had three toddlers to feed and thought I would try this recipe. Well they loved it and wanted more. Thankfully the recipe made plenty and went well with ketchup. I wansn't really impressed with the tejano dipping sauce. Would probably be good with ranch as well.

These were really good served with some refried beans on the side. Loved the sauce! I used co-jack cubes and pepper jack...both had really good flavor! We used a bit more heat(hot taco season and coated them in salsa and taco flavored Doritos..YUM!

This was a great recipe. I can see why it won $10,000. Going to put this on the menu.
