These were good! I used Spicy Nacho chips for a bit extra kick and also used some Cholula in the meat mixture. My cheese also didnt stay contained in all the nuggets. Definately agree that the sauce, though simple, is delicious! Thanks!

My whole family from my 18 month old daughter to my 51 year old mother really enjoyed this recipe. It is a great twist on tacos which we like to eat regularly. I only had about 3tsp of honey for the sauce which we thought was plenty sweet enough. I aso suggest baking the nuggets on a broiler pan so that any grease you may have from the meat will drain away.

This is a pretty neat twist on the nugget. Would enjoy a bit more "oomph" to the spiciness, maybe try Tabasco in the meat next time. I agree, it is difficult getting 1/2 inch cubes out of regular cheese chunks. May try cutting up my son's cheese sticks next time! :

These nuggets were awesome - my husband loves them and wants me to make them for his work Christmas party. I used hot cheese to spice it up a bit.

Mine resembled taco meatballs more than nuggets, but they were very good! I will make them again for sure.
I used 1/2 the can of chiles, which was fine, but the whole can wouldn't make them too hot. I used Doritos as the chips- I should have pulverized them a bit more. Some of the pieces were about 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch in size, and that was too big.
The only real problem I had was shaping them into nuggets- hard to do with a 1/2 inch square cheese cube in the middle! That, and the cheese did ooze out during baking. Next time I'll cut the cheese differently and make fewer nuggets to the batch (I got 17 out of the recipe using an ice cream/cookie dipper to separate the meat mix.
Oh- and the sauce.... that will be made for all future mexican dishes in our house! YUM!
