WAY too spicy. And I only used one small chipotle and NO additional sauce. Maybe I'm a wimp, but even my husband thought the spice was over powering. Otherwise, it's a decent dish. And easy to make...but would definitely continue to make my own tweaks. I added more tomato paste (partially to try to balance the spiciness. We liked that you couldn't tell it was turkey in the chili (we're trying to be more health conscious.
I wish it had thickened up a little bit more on its own. We did omit the beans (husband's preference and perhaps that would have helped. I just added some corn starch and that seemed to do the trick.
Will try adding more veggies next time for some more substance.
Overall, decent and easy to make.

My kids and I loved it. I did leave out the chipotle chiles because we don't like spicy foods and added a can of black beans because we love them. But I'm sure the recipe is great as written.

This was a really great chili. Decided to try turkey chili for the first time and we loved it. You can barely tell the difference between this and ground beef. Great kick to it, flavorful and will make it again for sure.

Delish! Yes, I made a few tweaks, but I'm not one to color inside the lines. I have made this twice and my husband still asks for it. The first time I doubled the tomato paste, chili powder, chipolte chili, and added black beans. YUM! The next time I added 1 C corn and 1 green bell pepper. YUM! Remember when you are cooking for your family you should adjust to your personal taste. If you don't like ground turkey, ground beef would work too. Have fun with it!

I made this dish for a friend's Superbowl Party...it was a big hit! Huge flavor!
We love beans in our chili, so I added an extra can of pinto beans along with the kidney beans. This recipe will be a staple at our casual get-togethers.

This chili is delicious with the right tweaks! We make it once a week in our house- obsessed. Here is my updated recipe:
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 small can tomato paste
5 Pastene Brand Chipotle Chile en Adobo, coarsely chopped, with 1 tablespoon sauce
(you may want to experiment with this- it can get really spicy if the chiles vary in size
1 pound ground turkey
1 (12-ounce IPA beer
1 (14 1/2-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes, with their juice
1 (15 1/2-ounce can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 1/2-ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained
Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro, sour cream, mexican cheese, and tortilla chips.

Delicious! I didn't have high expectations for 45 minute chili, but it came out great and the whole family (including a 2 and 4 year old enjoyed it. That makes a it a keeper. The Chili's in Adobo gave it a perfect smokey flavor. I didn't quite use a whole one and it was just the right amount of heat.
