I actually added mild italian sausage without the casing with the ground turkey. I also added bell peppers to the onion and garlic. It was flavorful and it tasted like I had been cooking chili in the slow cooker for hours.

the only suggestion that I have is that the recipe calls for one beer, and it should have been 3 one for the chili, and 2 more for the cook, and the guest... =

I love this recipe! I always make a few changes to the recipe so that it is a little thicker and makes more. Use 2 28 oz cans of crushed San Marzano tomatoes instead of whole tomatoes. If you can't find San Marzano use the best crushed tomatoes you can find. It really does make a big difference in taste. I also add a 15 oz can of black beans. Serve with sour cream, avocado and cheddar or monterey jack cheese. Easy and delicious!

loved this easy receipe, we made a few adjustments and loved it:
    - doubled the receipe, adding a little more than 2x the turkey, but less beans
    - added more beer (can't miss with this
    - and made it more spicey with the chilies en adobo
    - finally we added some tortilla chips to add some weight to it.

yummy, spicey and great for a cold night.

Flavors were good and the recipe is quick and easy. My family found this chili to be too salty. I put only
1 t. salt in it instead of the 1 T. the recipe called for. Also, my kids like things mild, so I reduced the amount of chipolte chile the recipe called for.

This was an easy recipe and the entire family loved it. If you want it a little more spicey, just add another adobe and it kicks it up to "runny nose" hot!

Recommended! No one could even tell it was made with ground turkey instead of beef.
