Salad was great! Definitely good for summer and get togethers, however, I would leave the ham out. I found it to be distracting and if anything would add grilled chicken or even go meatless.

The prep for this salad was pretty extensive --- but it's enough to feed a crowd and perfectly delicious! Followed recipe exactly as stated, took another reviewers advice and doubled the dress. Can't wait to make it again :D

Very good, followed recipe and appreciated comment on how to make buttermilk adding vinegar to milk. I couldnt find any buttermilk in 2 food stores, who would have thought it would be difficult and I did add a little more lime to the dressing. Family enjoyed it,I would do this recipe again. Thanks!

Made this for dinner last night and it was a hit! Put all together in the morning except for the tomatoes and the dressing, then topped it with the tomatoes and bacon - served the dressing on the side. I also added more lime juice to the dressing. Great summer salad and will make again!

I just made this for a side dish. It was delicious and everyone LOVED it!! I did not have buttermilk, so I substituted by adding a Tbsp of vinegar to 1c. milk and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then used what I needed. The dressing was very tasty. I added it to the pasta and drizzled just a little on the top. Served the rest on the side for people to add as they wanted. Will definitely be making this again!!

I made this for a cookout and loved it! I just served it in a regular bowl and layered everything twice so that it would be easier to toss at the cookout. Can't wait to try it again & serve it in a trifle bowl so the pretty layers show! I made double dressing so people could put as much dressing as they wanted on their portion (I still dressed the pasta with the dressing before adding to salad. The only thing I disagree with is the prep time. I believe it said 30 minutes. By the time you wash all the produce & chop everything & assemble everything, it is much more time consuming than that. I'm not complaining - just pointing out it will take longer if you do all the prep work yourself. Everyone that tried it really liked it . I will do this salad again.
