I want to thank you for this recipe.

Several years ago I found a cookie recipe in a magazine that was cream cheese heated in a pan with those red and white peppermint candies until soft and a light pink. This was then nestled in a cookie and cooked, then dusted in powdered sugar and crushed candies. It was a big hit with my family(although the first time I did it, I wrecked the pot:and I made it for several years at Christmas.

Unfortunately I've lost the recipe and it's impossible to find. I can't remember the name of the magazine it was in, but finding this recipe has made my holidays! I'm going to try it this week. I may have to adjust cooking time for the filling. Can't wait!

    Thanks again!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. If you have a very accurate oven 15 minutes leaves a very nice slighty moist cookie.

I followed the directions and these were easy to make. I didn't have a food processor and I mixed into dough by hand. I didn't have almond extract so I left it out. I will definitely make these again for the holidays.

It didn't look too hard, and looking at all the reviews, I thought it would be pretty simple.

The dough came out dry and crumbly, and after refrigerating it and putting it in the oven, the cookies were still dough-y and tasted bad. I followed all of the steps, but I'm not sure why they didn't come out well.

Was quite excited to try this recipe as it will be part of my x-mas cookie distribution. Firstly, I just moved abroad, therefore, not having all the proper US measuring utensils and having to convert the ingredients to the metric system was intimidating. However, after having done my conversions and measuring out the ingredients (not having almonds I substituted hazelnuts instead I found my batter came out quite DRY. Almost threw the whole thing out and after reading a review about not adding extra butter.....I did just the opposite and decided to soften some more butter and add it so to make it more moist and crumbly (enough to squeeze my hand and make a ball that holds together. Decided then to just go for it and bake. Held my breath......but miraculously, the cookies turned out very delicious! I used a vanilla infused powder suger and that really added to the flavor. Will definitely make this again!!

I had a tough time with this recipe because it was just SO dry! I followed the recipe exactly since it was my first time with it, so I did not add any extra butter, but the dough was very crumbly and the finished snowballs came out rock hard. They were still cute and festive, and the flavor was good, but the texture was all wrong. I prefer my family's pecan balls made with cake flour and a little more butter, so maybe I'll try that with them next time!
