Onion wasn't spiced the same as Outback's but was more like regular onion rings, but was still good. The sauce was great!

We were blessed to be able to go and pick up onions from the fields after they had been harvested in Statesboro GA. Needless to say we had lots of onions. I was able to find a recipe for your bloomin onion, I made it and everyone loved it. The only thing I changed was I cut mine into peddles. I did not have to use as much oil. I also used an iron skillet.

We had this for the super bowl party and everyone loved it. Gone in minuets.
We followed the direction exactly and it all worked out well. The sauce was great and we used it with chicken fingers too.

i would advise everyone to blanch the onion first for 30 seconds then coat with flour as it helps spread pedals also cut the core out with a biscuit cutter after its cooked as it may not be fully cooked and throw off the flavor if you eat them.

Was a bit nervous at first, especially with the onion. Followed directions, color and taste, great. Dip is fantastico, and we use it with other meats.

The procedure was easy enough but the flavor just wasn't there.. (We even put extra in! And the recipe didn't say to soak onion in milk, so the first coat of flour was taking a while to stick.

.. to give this a try with some walla walla sweet onions. I always eat them at the WW sweet onion festifal, never tried them anywhere else. There are some still around, so farmers market here I come. i think I will try and get some small ones to start with, easier to handle and all. I know I know I should post until I have tried but I am just so excited LOL
