This was an easy recipe, and it made the perfect amount...I filled a 13x9 pan with fist sized cinnamon rolls. The icing was surprisingly good too, despite it not being a cream cheese frosting. Overall, this will be my go-to recipe for cinnamon rolls.

Note: We have changed the yeast ingredient to read one 1/4-ounce packet active dry yeast (2 1/2 teaspoons. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok Microwave trick? You bring a mug of water to a rolling boil in the microwave to get a steamy envirment.(mine takes about 2 1/2 min Leave the mug in the micro, push it to a back corner and quickly put the wrapped dough bowl in and close the door. The hot water acts as a heat sink, and makes your microwave as close to a comercial proof box as a home cook is likely to get and well.. you should really never operate the microwave empty (according to manufacturer instructions. I usually check my bread doughs every 30 min or so.

I have found that if I use a unflavored dental floss and slip it under the rolls and use it to cut them apart they stay rounder than you can make them with a knife.

DELISHHHH....
for beginers like myself, here are few tips I would of liked to know before making this recipe ;
1- the dough can be kneaded by hand.
2- use 1/4 oz pack of yeast ( stores sell then as packs of 3, it is the equivalent of 1 pack
3- when rising the dough, make sure you plastic wrap the bowl, if air gets in it will not rise. i used the trick from a message below with the microwave, ( start the microwave for 1 min with nothing in it obviously, then once done, put the wrapped bowl in the microwave for 1h and 15 min
4- if you decide to make more than 6 rolls (8 is perfect remember to reduce your baking time.
5- as this is time consuming, I rolled them up as recipe calls for then put them in the fridge overnight. Next morning took em out let them rise and bake em.
6- My husband asked for more filling next time, so for the sweet tooth, make 1 1/2 filling recipe.
hope this helps newbies.

I use half the amount of sugar and use half AP flour and half wheat flour. I don't usually make the glaze. My family love them.

so these turned out really good. i used 1 and 1/4 oz of yeast and the dough still rose. i think i see people saying that i only needed to use 1/4 oz for the dough. what happens if there is too much yeast. would less yeast help to make them fluffier. the cinnamon buns kindof became deformed but the taste was still good. does anyone have answers for me. thanks!!!

Made these today,and they were wonderful. I also did not use all that butter in the filling. i used brown sugar instead of regular sugar in my filling and some pecans. WONDERFUL...
