Total fail. This should never be allowed on this website, I wasted a bunch of food thanks to the complete lack of care, form the author. Very disappointed here in Wisconsin.

Well, I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I tried this, but at least I know I am in good company with this failure of a recipe. I had expected the coating to stick to the nuts, but the nuts were just swimming in syrup. But, I put them in the oven anyway. Luckily used my worst cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. About 5 minutes into the baking time I saw smoke billowing out of my oven and then my smoke alarm was going crazy. It was like total reflex that I was able to get them out in time. Spent an hour with every single window open and the ceiling fans going. The nuts made this sheet of brittle on my (now defunct baking sheet and would not come off. Save your time, save your money don't even try this. Saw the recipe in Food Network magazine. Can't believe it made it into the magazine.

Worst recipe - ever! I followed directions and it burned. My daughter asked if I read the reviews. Sadly, not until I wasted time and money trying to make the recipe. The Food Network should remove this from their website.

pitiful. like everone else, I followed the recipe to a T nd it was a complete failure. first of all there was way too much caramel and it never dried up and the conconction smoked up the whole house being in a 400 degree oven for 10 mins.

I'm not sure what the originals are supposed to taste like, but I think I have it basically figured out. I just made some and they came out fine this way -

I took 1 tsp vanilla with a tablespoon or so of honey and mixed them together in a bowl to cover with peanuts with the honey mixture. I used one cup of roasted unsalted peanut. place on a parchment paper on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 6 mins. took out of oven and moved nuts around. put back in for another 2 mins.

then I put a small amount of sugar on the bottom of a pie plate (approx 2 tablespoons of sugar with mayb 1/4 tsp salt andmixed the two. let peanuts cool a min or so before placing in sugar mixture and toss to coat.

HORRIBLE! I too wish I would have read the reviews on this recipe but I used the recipe out of the mag. First batch burnt, nasty, and brittle like. I must have done something wrong so I tried again following directions to a 'T'. Yeah same results Now I have 2 hard, burnt brittle sheets. I was so excited about this recipe, now I'm upset. Why Can't I give no stars? One is too much

I ruined a pan making these. I coated it with cooking spray as suggested and they are completely stuck to the pan. I also wished I had read the reviews because I had the same problem with burning. Does the FN ever make recipes using residential cooking equipment? I think they use restaurant quality equipment which is not available to the average cook, of course the results are going to be different.

Made this first time and like most of the reviews, peanuts came out completely burnt. Mom still loved them. Decided to try it again, checked and stirred them every 2-3 mins, until I was satisfied with the results. Came out perfect and delicious.

I think myself a pretty accomplished cook, and FN does a good job on "Copy That!" recipies, but this one needs retooling and republishing in an upcoming magazine. Like other commenters, mine smoked in the oven and stuck like glue to the oiled pan.

What a dissapointment! I tried this recipe twice - the first time I used roasted peanuts by mistake and the batch came out like almost-burnt peanut brittle (fortunately my husband likes it so it wasn't a waste of money. The second batch I made with raw peanuts and they came out not quite so much like peanut brittle, but certainly nothing like what the picture in the magazine shows. Save your ingredients and time and don't bother with this recipe!
