This is the best cheesecake ever! The recipe is relatively easy, just time consuming. Will definitely trump pumpkin pie for the holidays at my house from now on!

This cheesecake is so delicious and easy to make. Its pretty inexpensive too. This was my first ever made-from-scratch cheesecake and it turned out great. I followed the recipe to the T and I still have leftover batter and the top did crack. I don't like pumpkin, but I loved this dessert! I also made the whipped cream from scratch, I just followed Alton Brown's recipe. This is now a Thanksgiving tradition at my house!

This recipe has become Famous to my family! Totally gift-worthy! I end up having a TON of batter left over. Anyone else have that problem?

Awesome cheesecake! When making this for my husband's family (who tend to be pretty adamant calorie-counters I took a colossal leap and substituted non-fat cream cheese all the while having a panic attack that it would be terrible. To my surprise the cheese cake still turned out perfect! So save yourself some of the holiday weight and go for non-fat; it doesn't change the flavor of this delish dessert!

I made this last year and it was a huge hit! I did do the water bath and still had cracks. Also I made the crust go all the way up the sides of the pan. I used a pre-crumbled graham crackers and used just a touch more butter as it was a bit dry and hard to work up the sides at first. Also goes great with rum flavored whipped cream!

How high up the sides of the springform pan should the crust go??? Every recipe I've seen for cheesecake just has the crust at the bottom.. Should I spread the crust all the way up the springform pan or just a little? thanks

Question???? Every cheesecake recipe--except this one-- I've looked at calls for a small amount of all purpose flour. Just wanted to make sure this isn't some kind of misprint and it works ok without the flour. MJ
