I have made these twice now and they were perfect both times. The first time was for a cocktail party & i didn't change a thing. first thing gone, people where crazy about them. I made them last night for dinner to serve over egg noodles. My kids LOVED them. I did doupble the sauce to serve over noodles. No need to do that if you are making them to eat on their own, but I do suggest doing that if serving them over anything. Used beef stock instead of broth & made them even better. I almost didn't buy the lingonberries b/c they were rather pricey (I think about $8 for the jar, but I am glad I did b/c they do add something & this one jar will last forever. Enjoy!

These were wonderful! Before I made these I had never tasted Ikea's Swedish meatballs. As it happened we visited an Ikea a few weeks after I made Food Network's recipe for my family...It was no comparison...mine were much better!! Even my very picky grandchildren loved them (in fact, their other grandma has asked for the recipe. This recipe is a keeper!
The one thing Ikea had that mine didn't was the ligonberry sauce...but that's easy enough to fix!

Yummm! These are delicious! I had only beef on hand so that's what I used. These meatballs were so tender and moist...melt in your mouth good! Baking them in the oven instead of browning them in a pan is so much easier. I will definitely make this again but will double the recipe for the gravy. Great recipe!

We love Ikea meatballs but come on we all know they could be improved upon......This recipe is spot on only better.....the sauce is exactly the same.....the meatballs have a softer texture and ofcourse being fresh and not frozen makes the difference...I served them with mashed potatoes and Ligonberry sauce and the family loved them....5 stars for sure....next time I would increase the sauce to double the recipe.....I did simmer them a bit longer then the 10 minutes the recipe called for.....I baked the meatballs for 30 minutes because of the pork and they need to be turned at the half way point.....I also baked them on parchment paper so they wouldn't stick to the pan.....This recipe is a winner.....if you happen to be a fan of Ikea meatballs or always wondered what all the fuss is about.....make these...they will not disappoint......

I really, really liked this recipe! And, it made a bunch - so I froze some, and with the remaining few we had left after two meals, I made a meatball sandwich w/sauce for the husband. He especially liked the meatballs!

These were "THE BOMB"... Time consuming but wow, I did not know that meaballs could melt in your mouth... SO worth the work. And we used rasberry jam which was a fine substitution... Will definitely make again.

Well worth the time and effort. "KEEPER RECIPE". I made double batch of the meatballs to freeze some for later use. My husband loved them.

I've never had the meatballs at Ikea so I can't say how close this recipe is to the original but in any case they were AWESOME. My husband's Swedish father said they were just like the ones he remembered his father making for him when he was a boy. They didn't require the full hour in the fridge - just popped them in the freezer while I preheated the oven and they were perfect. Took less than an hour, start to finish. I also did them with gluten free breadcrumbs and flour and it still worked perfectly.
