I am frustrated. I was so excited to see the high marks for this recipe and followed it to a tee(I hate when people rate a recipe who haven't followed it-really!!! I had my son taste it as well as me. His comments-"it is not the best mac salad I have ever tasted" I am still trying to get the taste of onion out of my mouth. I am now going to try and salvage it by adding somethings. I would not make this again. Way too many onions-yuck. Lacks balance of flavors

This is a delicious mac salad, has really good flavors. The sour cream & red onion are key elements to the recipe. Everyone loved it, thanks Foodnetwork Chef's.

I made this recipe and my family loved it. The small amount of sugar balanced the vinegar in this recipe - for those who are not fond of the vinegar in other macaroni salads. I will make this one again.

This recipe was so delicious that the 2nd time I made it I got creative and added tuna; and peas to give it more color. It was fabulous! I want to try it with lump crab for the 4th.

This was very good. I doubled the sauce and kept about 1/3 of it in the fridge for the leftovers as it will dry some. I needed to add more seasonings to give it a kick. The addition of sour cream to the traditional mayo sauce really makes this a keeper.

Perfect macaroni salad -- mild, just the right amount of creaminess, perfectly portable for a picnic -- even my kids loved this -- i used to make pat and gina neelys which is also very good -- but this recipe is now my favorite for sure!

The recipe was great! I used Greek yogurt instead of sour cream added carrots, cayenne pepper, and fresh garlic. Next time I will add more veggies, but I only had a few on hand. Very tasty!

The key to this recipe is the dressing! I doubled the recipe as some readers suggested and I used it to moisten the salad the next day. You can use any pasta and veggies you like. I had broccoli, red onion and assorted peppers handy so I used them. Yummy!!!
