I have to give this recipe a low rating, but it's likely due to operator error. It was way too moist and dense. I think with half (or less of the liquid, it could be good. A ton of competing flavors though - I think you could eliminate something, but then again, nothing wasn't yummy in it.

I will be making this for the third year. Everyone really likes it and my son-in-law always requests it. It's his favorite side.

DELICIOUS!!!! I made this for my family last Thanksgiving and have moved over a thousand miles away and got a call for this recipe. My family is heavy in tradition so when I brought this to thanksgiving I thought I would be doomed, but everyone loved it! This has now become a family tradition and I can't wait to make it this Christmas so it will taste like home at the table.

The best thing about this is recipe is I chop everything up the night before put them in container (depending on when you add them sautee, pour, and mix and it makes the next day almost hassle free. It pairs well with a great gravy. LOVE IT!!!

I don't know what the person who rated it 1 star was expecting, but this was delicious and I DID mess up a little. One thing I didn't like was that it said it would fit into one 9x13 pan. With that much bread and onions and apples I knew there was no way. It made that much plus filled another 9x9 dish.

My mess up- I forgot that I actually bought parsley and thought it would be in an italian mix of seasoning that I had. It wasn't, but I used it anyway. So the taste of the seasonings was a little strong but did mellow out, and it tasted great anyway. Everyone loved everything I made.

This was the worst stuffing I have ever made. 15 people gathered together, each person took a scoop on their plate. Everyone hated it.
I thought it was my fault - I checked the recipe carefully - nope. I did everything like it told me. I even used fresh Sourdough and fresh Pumpernickel from the bakery. This was a waste of my time and my money purchasing the ingredients.

Whoever created this stuffing should be fired, or at least take a culinary class.

I decided this year I was going to make a different type of stuffing to jazz up my family's Thanksgiving. And my mom is ALWAYS up for new recipes. I made a few changes as I already had some ingredients at home and would not require a trip to the store.
Instead of raisings I used craisins. I added 2 leaks and used half the amount of onion, which was a yellow one. Already on hand in my pantry were dark wheat dinner rolls and Texas Toast. These dried out beautifully and I just tore them up into pieces.
This recipe will be made in its regular form next year or we might even make another one from this same issue!!
