What an excellent snacky food! Instead of using just the 2 cheese's, I also added 3/4 cup of Pepper Jack Cheese. It tasted wonderful! It was a little sweeter after adding the Pepper Jack but it was still delicious! I also mixed some of the bacon bits in with the cheese mixture before spreading it on the toast. I switched the bread as well to Italian bread. When toasting the bread, I used the same pan as I did to fry the bacon and saved the bacon grease to pour on the bread when toasting. It gave it more bacon flavor (for all you bacon lovers! All in all, I LOVED this!

I also usually serve this as an appetizer. I use a loaf of French bread cut on the bias and toast those up, so it more like a bruschetta. It's very popular. In fact, my sister-in-law will buy me loaves of bread in the hopes that I will turn it into this! Aside from the change in bread, I follow the recipe exactly, and it's always gone very quickly!

We really enjoyed this sandwich, which thanks to the previous reviewer, I also served as an appetizer! Guests loved it, too! As for Dan, there is a BIG difference between MAYONNAISE and that Miracle Whip stuff. That's a salad dressing, not a mayonnaise. Go for the good ingredient (Best Foods/Hellmans, skip that sweet stuff when the recipe calls for mayonnaise!

Not only does miracle whip taste different, but it has a different consistency and ingredients, so I'd say that it probably would affect the outcome.
"It has more sugar, vinegar and spices in it than mayonnaise does, and less egg yolk content per volume as well. "

I think Miracle Whip has a much different taste than mayo..it is more tangy and more sweet. To me it would not taste as good as with just the mayo. l have not made the recipe yet but miracle whip is usually used more for cold salads. Just my thoughts on it.
