One of the best and easiest recipes I have ever made!!!!! Everyone loves it. I use fresh mozzerella cheese and I think it add so much flavor and richness to the dish.

    A keeper!

If you want some extra sauce to put on top - you need to double to sauce as others suggest. Even using the whole batch of sauce will leave you with nothing left.

I've made the Quick Tomato Sauce for everything after finding this recipe a few months ago. A few suggestions: feel free to use Crushed Tomatoes instead, it eliminates the need to do any chopping. For a sharper, tangier flavor and fuller taste, use a garlic press instead of chopping it. Feel free to sub dried herbs for the fresh, I also add some oregano. Sometimes I add a dallop or two of tomato paste, depending on how each batch tastes. Enjoy!

I made a very light tomato/basil sauce a few days ago, and decided it was time to make something meaty, cheesy and satisfying. This was definitely it!!! Got a HUGE thumbs up from the boyfriend...he wants me to make a business out of it. : Used a 28-oz can of tomato sauce instead of whole toms...made it saucy and rich. And YES use the whole batch of sauce you make, 3.5 cups will not be enough, so go ahead and splurge...it's well worth it. Used a mild Italian sausage, I think next batch will be spicy. This makes a LOT so plan on having some leftovers if you aren't cooking for 6-8 people (not like those will be any problem. Bon appetit and happy eating! :

This was my first baked ziti attempt and it came out great. I followed other reviewers suggestions and doubled the sauce. I also used shredded mozzarella instead of fresh mozz. and it came out very tasty! I served it with garlic bread.

I used half turkey sausage and half pork sausage and it was delicious. I used the entire batch of the sauce instead of measuring 3.5 cups. I think it would be too dry otherwise. My only complaint is that it was a bit too salty. I'll cut back on the salt next time. My husband loved it!

I was looking for a quick recipe for dinner to match the ingedients that I had on hand. Made this recipe and it was delicious. I made a few changes - I used premade meatballs, jar tomato sauce and used provolone instead of the mozzarella. It was quick and absolutely delicious. We will have this again!

I've made this recipe several times to rave reviews from friends and family. It's simple which is wonderful when you do not have the time during the week to make a "traditional" gravy! I will say that I prefer a bit more red sauce in my finished product. I've modified this by only using a 14oz. can of peeled tomatoes along with 14oz of crushed tomatoes. I've also subsituted a pound of Hot Italian Chicken Sausage, found in the organic meat section of our local grocer chain, instead of the pork sausage to reduce calories & fat.

Recipe is a great platform! You can add anything you want to personalize this. For the only one to say it was bad, should look to the other reviews for advice. Maybe an EX of Tyler?

I had been looking for a great simple recipe for baked ziti and this was it. I skipped the sausage in the sauce and it still turned out great - gooey and cheesy and really yummy!
