Cook 4 ounces diced pancetta in a saucepan until slightly crisp. Add 2 cloves minced garlic, one 14-ounce can crushed tomatoes and 1 cup water; bring to a boil. Stir in two 15-ounce cans drained and rinsed white beans, 2 tablespoons each honey and balsamic vinegar, 1 sprig thyme and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened, about 20 minutes. Season with salt and top with chopped parsley.

Have to disagree. I didn't think these flavors went well together. It was certainly quick and easy but I couldn't eat it!

Great quick and easy recipe. This recipe has a great taste and is very simple to make, I even had all of the ingredients on hand without special shopping. Instead of pancetta, I used precooked bacon I have overflowing in my freezer, and it gave a great smokey taste to the slightly sweet broth. Only complaint is it turns out more like thick chili than the beans in the picture, but I will be making this again.

Very tasty. I used black beans instead of white and home-cured bacon plus creole sausage instead of pancetta but the balsamic/honey flavors were still conspicuous and delicious.
