My husband loves banana walnut breads and so I made this for him Yesterday and he loved it <3. While it was baking, the smell was so awesome that he went to the kitchen atleast a half a dozen times to check if it was done. Thanks for the recipe.

Loved the fact that this recipe used less flour, sugar and butter than all others I've tried in the past, but the final result was still moist and very delicious! I made 2 changes: Instead of 1 cup sugar, I used 1/2 c. sugar + 1/2 c. dark brown sugar. I also used 4 very ripe bananas (but they were all fairly small. Instead of using one 9x3 loaf pan, I divided the batter into two smaller loaf pans and baked them together for about 45 to 50 minutes total. One important hint with this recipe: the toothpick test is not reliable enough to ensure that these are done. Make sure you bake until the very middle of the loaf feels somehwat dense and springs back with a light touch of your finger. I will definitely make this again. Wonderful!

This is a really great recipe and my husband asks me to make it all the time. I will say the last two times I made this I didn't have unsalted butter on hand so I used Country Crock. This made the bread more moist and also gave the crust a buttery taste. I will be using this from now on:
