Delicious recipe! Have made it several times for my family and they LOVE it! I use a mixture of beef stock, chicken stock and burgundy wine for the liquid - the flavor is so rich and delicious!! Because I use the wine, I do not use the red wine vinegar. Perfect consistency, perfect meal!

Really good. Didn't have parsley. Didn't use the cans of tomatoes as we didn't want that flavor. Some folks like the stock thicker but we liked it on the thinner side. Added a bag of frozen veggies which I thawed and heated prior to adding to the mix. Did the whole think on the stove top in a cast iron pot. Makes a lot and again, really good.

I love this recipe! I am 21 and have never made beef stew for my family before. This recipe was so good and easy to follow. I was missng a few ingredients for the recipe so I just went with what I had. I didn't have bay leaves, dislike thyme, so I only used parsley. I did not use red wine like the other people did. For the most part, I completly followed the recipe. I added more vegetables than reccomended and I added a 1/2 bag of frozen peas and 1/2 bag of frozen corn. My family loved it!..the flavor was amazing!! I'm actually reheating the left overs right now for lunch. This recipe makes a huge pot! The recipe does call for 7 cans of tomatoes. I only used three (undrained. Many people said that their stew came out watery but mine was perfect. It was hearty and delicious. My fiancee loves it and he hate vegetables!! I will def. make this recipe again and again. It's a must try. P.S. it takes longer to cook than mentioned. My stew took about 5 1/2 hours not 3 hours. SOOO good!!

the only reason i'm giving this recipe 4 stars is because it wasn't as easy as explained. The taste however is worth the wait...I had to double the simmer time on the stove after the oven time. I also had to add more flour, when that didn't thicken to my liking I added a little cornstarch. San Marzano's and fresh peas were also added. After I cooked it on low for about 5hrs it was to die for. i will be using this beef stew recipe forever as long as i have the time too

The seasoning on this stew was wonderful, my family loved it! I did chop items up smaller because of my family's preferences, so I did not have trouble with the meat cooking up and being tender, as it was in smaller pieces. I used 1 Tbsp. dried thyme and minced the parsley up instead of the sprigs the recipe called for. I also added the half cup red wine as others recommended. I think next time I will add an additional thickening agent at the end, as it was a little watery still, but an extremely flavorful broth, so good with bread to sop up the juices!

I absolutely LOVE this recipe! In fact, I'm about to make it again this afternoon for the football game tonight. The only thing I've done differently is to use a bit more of all the ingerdients so I can have it on hand as long as possible! I do use the entire can of tomatoes (San Marzano, hopefully with the liquid in place of one of the cups of beef stock. It is a simple recipe and boy, oh boy, do we think it's delicious!!

This was very tasty, the beef was so tender. I used 4 cups of beef broth with the rest water, it was very flavorful. I will be making this again!

I have never made a stew like this b4. Altho it took longer to cook then specified but all in all it came out really good. I halved the recipe & used the vege portions of what I had on hand but it didn't matter I think it came out the way it was supposed to or really close to it. Hubby loved it!
