Made this to drizzle over a cheesecake for a beer themed party, it was a huge hit, people put it on all the desserts that night, its even good in coffee! I chose a blue moon belgian beer since it is traditionally serve with an orange wedge. I had no problem with the amount of cooking time like other reviewers have said, it came out perfect by strictly following the recipe.

This stuff is AMAZING!!! If you have never made caramel sauce try this, it is a MUST! So easy to make and so delicious. I agree with another user who said it took much longer than the recipe said. It took me about 15 mins to reduce the beer down and about 20 mins to get it to the soft ball stage. Other than that I had no problems whatsoever.I used a sweet stout beer which gave a deep, nutty flavor and I didn't have any cardamom so I used a pinch of cinnamon. My husband wants to just eat it out of the container with a spoon! Next time I think I would like to try it with a light honey beer. Serving this tonight over Alton's vanilla ice cream. I can't wait!

DELICIOUS!! Words cannot describe how yummy this is!! I made substitutions only because I did not have all ingredients on hand. Had no cardamom so I added a pinch of cinnamon. Also no heavy cream so I used half and half. Came out so great!! Beer used was Stella Artois.

AMAZING caramel sauce! I have made this recipe three times now and it wonderful every time. The cooking time was much longer than on the recipe but we also cooked it on a very low temperature. We used drifter beer - one of the best recipes I have ever had!
