Yummy! I used baby Yukon Gold potatoes w/skins on and one rib celery sautéed along w/onion garlic, followed the rest of recipe using home made chicken stock. Turned out fabulously tasty!

This soup was as easy to make as it was delicious!! Especially during these cold afternoons. Having a bowl full right now and enjoying every second!! (I added a chopped carrot, celery, and handful of spinach .... so gooood!!!

This was fabulous: I'll be doubling it from now on. DH raved over it and the kids loved it, too. I used a fat dollop of sour cream in place of the cream and grated some gruyere cheese into it. Very rich and satisfying.

@pantercoach1_1 Actually, that is one of the main reasons why I read reviews other than looking at the stars it got. I like seeing what others change and what works for them because I love to change recipes and make them mine. Please don't tell people what to post and what not to, that's not your place in an open forum and you're not the voice of everyone, I like those posts. Thanks.

if you like broccoli soup, you'll love this. the only thing i did wrong was i put in too much garlic, i use it from a jar, minced, i just put in too much but it's still good. luckily we all love garlic. i did ladle it into blender, just took a second and really gave it that smooth, creamy texture. i used more 1/2 & 1/2 too, half cup. top w/shreded cheese. very good!

For Panther1coach_182408,
Where does it say to not alter the recipe? That's what cooking is all about. Keep your comments about what people should or should not post to yourself. Be creative! You must only eat foods that come out of a box. That way you can follow the instructions to a T. Eat something more than hotdogs and french fries buddy. Move on!!!

I made this to the recipe. Where the flavor comes in is the toppings. Be creative, i had many different toppings and everyone used a different combo. others that i used...green onions, chipotle peppers, sour cream and all the others that were suggested.

I made this according to the recipe and it was good. Not great, but good. I will tweak it next time.
For some of you, please don't alter recipe and then comment on it. "I didn't have thyme so I used oregano. I added gorgonzola cheese, I threw in some rutabaga, etc." THIS is the recipe you're supposed to be reviewing.

I tried making this recipe today and found that it was good. For my dietary needs, I used 6 tblsp of yogurt. However, I found the recipe a little to bland... Next time I am going to try adding some chillies and celery to it!

This was my first attempt to make a broccoli soup and it was a failure. I think this receipe called for too much onion. I tried to eat it with my kids and we could not do it..maybe if I try to do again will cut down on onion and add more broth..
