I have made this many times and it is always a huge hit! It really is not hot, even though the amount of hot sauce seems like a lot. It travels well, and is always one of the first dishes empty. You can add a bit more 1/2 and 1/2 if you like it a bit creamier. Guys love it!!

Very good! This is on the game day recipe list!
I did not have celery on hand so I omitted it. I added 2 oz of cream cheese to the chicken mixture. This was a great addition! It tasted like buffalo chicken dip in the center and helped cut some of the heat that previous reviewers had mentioned. The heat was not at all as bad as I was expecting, and I am not one to eat spicy food. I used rotini instead of macaroni because that is what I had on hand. I cooked the pasta so it still had a little crunch in it. I hate mushy pasta! I'm ITALIAN! : I used whole milk, but next time I will use 1%. With all the cheese in the sauce I don't think it will take away from the flavor. It was not super creamy, but certainly not dry. I will probably add 1/2 -3/4 cup of the pasta water to the sauce next time just to thin it out a little and keep it creamy. Now I just need to figure out a lightened up version so we can have it more often!

This recipe is sooo delish! If you love buffalo wings and Mac and cheese it's a must try. I did change the recipe slightly. I added a few tbsp of ranch dressing to the chicken mixture and also added about a cup more of chicken. Also, I used cheddar, mozzarella and Mexican cheese in the cheese mixture. I didn't have any pepper jack. I only used about half of the macaroni they suggested since I like my mac and cheese creamy. With all of the macaroni suggested the noodles will soak up the cheese when you bake it. I also used half 1% milk and half whole milk to lighten up the recipe a tad. I didn't use the blue cheese crumbles in the panko mixture. Just butter, panko and parsley since I didn't have blue cheese crumbles. My husband was skeptical but loved the recipe. He even went back for seconds!

This is mac & cheese is packed with flavor, but the only thing I would do differently is not bake it. Baking caused the pasta to soak up much of the creamy cheese sauce and I like creamy mac & cheese. I precooked the pasta as directed, but it still absorbed the sauce. A few things I changed to fit my liking and serving situation - added hot sauce only to chicken mixture, as pepper jack gave cheese sauce enough heat. Stirred in 2 ounces softened cream cheese and 3 tablespoons Rance dressing into chicken mixture. Mixed cheese sauce into cooked pasta before spooning into baking dish. Evenly spooned chicken mixture over top. I was bringing to work next day to put in frig. Baked 40 minutes covered with foil next morning. Did not put Panko Blue cheese topping on as it would have become too soggy since not eating til later. Brought blue cheese crumbles so people could add before reheating their portion.

Very tasty. Easy to follow. My husband loved it! The only thing is it is very rich. Too much dairy and hot sauce is not a good combination. I subbed 1% milk for the half &half. Would suggest using less milk maybe 1.5 or 2 cups. A little less cheese, could cut one of the portions in half. The butter could be decreased as well. And also maybe leaving out the hotsauce in the cheese mixture, the hot sauce in the chicken is enough. Besides that this will def be a staple in my house! :

Love this recipe!!! You can definitely lighten it up by using less butter, light sour cream, part skim milk with the half & half, less cheese...I think I only had an 8 oz bag of cheddar the 1st time I made this & it still tasted great! Great recipe for parties, football, hunting...this my ultimate comfort food...if you love buffalo wings & mac & chese, don't hesitate to try it.
