I have never tried to make this type of cookie before, they looked like they were too time consuming. Since the recipe stated it was "easy", I thought I'd give it a try. And this is a very easy recipe, although the ingredients state to have extra sugar for rolling later, but nothing more is stated in the instructions about rolling the dough into sugar and I missed that step...so thinking my cookies might lack sweetness, I put a little glaze drizzle on top. I don't know if that was really neccessary, as the cookies turned out pretty sweet (luckily I like them that way. Also, I think I may have made my thumbprint too deep, and using the approx. 3/4 tsp raspberry jam caused the middle of my cookie to become very weak, and most of the cookie broke in half either as I tried to remove them from the baking sheet, or when picking them up to eat. But otherwise, they were still a hit with my family, they took very little time to make, and I will keep this recipe on hand to make again!

This recipe is easy to follow and the end product is a wonderful tender cookie. I used "low sugar raspberry jam" and it was very good -- not too sweet. I also experimented with the cooking times: 15 min. resulted in a slightly firm cookie with a softer center and 13 min. produced an overall softer cookie. Both times worked great!

Im not a big baker, but made these for xmas presents. They are EASY, and come out beautiful and soo soo good. Probably one of the best cookies Ive ever made. Not sure why others had problems, these seemed EXTREMELY foolproof to me.

Very moist! Rolling the balls of dough in sugar is a nice technique that makes these cookies even more tasty. I recommend making fairly large, deep holes...or reducing the amount of jam used in each cookie. There are a few cookies where I used too much jam for the hole and it ended up bleeding over the edge of the cookie, which doesn't make them very gift-worthy. Very tasty overall!

These were just okay, and that is maybe because I have made a similar recipe that is better. It is from Cooking Light and they are called Raspberry Strippers. They are not as sweet, and a bit more crunchy, which is my preference.

These luscious bites turned out perfectly sweet and buttery. I used strawberry jam as the glossy red is so festive for the holidays. This recipe is a keeper as it's foolproof and the results are lovely.

These cookies are super simple to make and are truly delicious. Any type of jam works great. The kids can even help with this one.
