I made 5 different cookies this year (all 5 star rated and these were my favorite. This was my first time using vanilla bean and it really made them special.

These are my favorite cookies to make, especially for the holidays. They are especially delicious rolled in finely chopped pecans. I usually make half of them rolled in the nuts and half in sparkly sanding sugar. They are really great with rhubarb jam. Always a hit!

these are great cookies..it took me a couple of times but.. i finally perfected them... trick is to chill the dough for at least 30 min.. and lower the temp of the oven to 325. also set your racks as high in the oven as possible and make sure the cookie sheet is centered ... i use my middle finger to make the well for the jelly.. well actually i prefer preserves.. i dont roll them in granulated sugar , i sprinkle them with powdered sugar after they have cooled... i made 10 batches and they were gone in a day!!! my family and friends love these cookies!!!!!!

i make these quite frequently when i have some extra time on my hands. they're wonderful and i can't understand why some people would rate them as only 1 star! i suggest using a melon scooper instead of your thumb; they come out much more presentable and pretty. however, dip the melon scooper in sugar as well as rolling the cookies in sugar. But yes indeed, these are a big hit in my family and I can recite this recipe in my sleep!

When I was growing up my mom and I made thumbprint cookies. Mom passed away and I was did not get the recipe from her. I wanted to pass this tradition down to my girls and boy did we find it! This cookie is delicious. My girls and I make homemade strawberry jam and use it in the recipe to make it extra special and delicious. We ALWAYS have to double or triple the recipe to share! Thanks!

I have gotten nothing but rave, rave, rave reviews over these cookies. Everyone who has tasted them beg me for more.

The only downside is that they do spread out while baking. I'm still trying to figure out how to keep it from spreading. I like them best when they are small and compact but they are delicious either way! Tips: 1 You may want to stick these in the fridge for 1/2 hour-hour just to make the dough easier to work with. 2The larger the ball, the wider it will flatten. 3 I found that if you bake for 5 minutes and then put in your imprints and jam, it holds the shape better.

I will keep playing as I bake. I now HAVE to make a double batch every time I make them because they disappear so quickly and so many people want them.

Love these cookies! Will not disappoint you!

I made these cookies for the holidays and out of the 7 different types of cookies I made, these were definitely the hit. I have also made them for a few different parties and have never gotten any bad reviews on them...very, very good!
