Great comfort soup, and the squash adds to creaminess without a starchy thickener. I used pork & lamb sausage instead of chicken, Then also added precooked wild rice at the end for added texture. Recommend this soup for large gatherings, a great fall alternative to chili.

I added some nutmeg and a little brown sugar to add more flavor. Great taste! If you can find squash already cubed in a package it makes it easier.

This soup was pretty easy to make, but I wouldn't make it again. It was somewhat bland, and wasn't worth the amount of time it took to make.

Good soup; I did roast the butternut squash - it gives it more flavor,I think. Also, added a jalepeno to the veggies. I made this because we had some chicken apples sausages that had no flavor. This made them taste much better! So if you make it with good sausage, it will be outstanding.

very very tasty and so hearty but healthy. I cooked it with a little salt only because I wanted my 1 year old baby to have it too. I pureed it and then cooked our adult portion a little longer, added dry rubbed sage and little more salt and pepper, sausage, cooked it for 10 more minutes. The apple sausage brings out the flavors even more. and baby ate like 2 oz of his soup, great recipe.

This soup was awesome and so easy. I used spicy chicken sausage with jalapeno so it gave the soup a little zip...It was awesome!!

Didn't have a whole lot of flavor, and was definitely missing something. Gave it to my family who came over, and they were all honest... it tasted mainly like carrot/celery soup.

Really good flavor - the sausage really makes it stand out!

This soup was amazing. You must use a good apple sausage that has a bit of sweetness to it. Made it for a luncheon and everyone loved it! Will make again and have been asked to share the recipe with my luncheon group!
