I thought this dish was so delicious that I just had to register on this site so I could comment here (especially after reading that 1 star comment. I followed the recipe but I had a small amount of lean ground beef that needed to be used so added that in as well. The only other thing I did differently was mash the potatoes first, then add the cabbage & ground beef and mix everything together. The sauteed cabbage was so yummy that I made a little extra as a side dish and the whole thing made a scrumptious meal! This dish will be my new "Comfort Food"!

I thought this might be a unique pairing of flavors and sounded like it could be different and yummy. I couldn't have been more wrong; I thought the sauteing of the cabbage could be wonderful - it was awful. My husband loves new things and also HATED it (nevermind my pre-teen kids. Horrible, horrible. We threw away the leftovers.

I would never have thought of putting Cabbage in mashed potatoes but this was simply outstanding. I didn't change a thing with this recipe and even my picky 9-yr old who doesn't like mashed potatoes loved this one. Keeper.
