This cake was fun to make. I baked it for 45 minutes, waited 20 minutes, it unmolded beautifully, the caramel melted onto the peaches, but the whole middle section was UNBAKED! Even though my toothpick came out clean (figure that one out!, it would have needed at least 20 more minutes of baking. It was as pictured, the taste of the peaches and cake were heavenly -- I also would peel the peaches, unattractive "hanging peelings" not good. I will try it again.

This cake is amazing! I've made it several times and every time it was completely devoured by my guests. I love the way the texture of the grits plays off the juicy peaches. The last time I made it, I was out of grits so I substituted white cornemal to great success. It had a finer texture, which is a perfect substitution for anyone who doesn't have the breeding to appreciate grits!

I was TOTALLY embarrassed with this cake - which I made twice. I know how to bake; I gave 1 to my guy to give his Mom BEFORE I ate any of the other one. The grits make a disgusting texture; 43 minutes was not enough- it fell apart when trying to invert; had to put it back & back an add'l 20 min. Her dog & my squirrels won't even eat it!!! Delete this recipe-it's definitely not up to your standards!!

Fortunately I read the reviews before I made this dessert, and I took to heart the words about the grits being too crunchy. I used just 1/8 cup of the grits and used cornmeal for the rest. This dessert was as tasty as it was beautiful! I served it with an amaretto whipped cream for those who wished to be really decadent. I will make it again and again, and would definitely recommend it to others!

I will not use this recipe again. The cake lacked flavor, the carmel stuck to the parchment and the over all outcome was not he best. However, it did look just like the picture.

I had fun putting this together, and the peaches are so delicious right now. The grits were a little "gritty," and the skin-on peaches made it hard to cut with your fork. I like the almond meal idea. It IS delicious for breakfast the next morning!

Very Good, I added 1tsp of vanilla and 1/2 tsp of almond oil. Will try adding ground amond meal. Texture is like a polenta pound cake. Very light and refreshing for the summer.
