These cookies were chewy in the middle with a crispy outer edge. The color is very dark, which I found unappetizing, they look burnt. The flavor is okay but nothing to write home about. I found them a bit bland. Don't think I'll try this recipe again.

Made these for an all-boy playoff party with some chocolate chip cookies. These were gone, I had chocolate chips left over! They loved them. I'll make them again and again!

I'm not sure why this cookie recipe is getting poor reviews?! I made these oatmeal cookies because they're my husbands favorite cookie and thought I would surprise him by making them homemade. I had everything on hand except the raisins and I almost didn't make them until I read other reviews and saw people were using other dried fruit and choc chips. I split the the dough before adding the fruit and did half (1/4 cup chopped dried cherries and to the other half semi-sweet choc chips and walnuts chopped 1/2 cup total. We loved them and have been eating them for a couple of days. Have added to my recipe box and will be making them again.

The cookies were very good and chewy, but the molasses made the cookies very dark giving them the appearance that they had been overcooked.

Yummy! Very moist and chewy. I will be making them again. A little too many raisins for my personal liking. Next time I will cut down about 1/3 of the amount.
