I didn't read any reviews first - I wish I had. This was the most horrible cake receipe ever. I made it the same as it said except for I didn't have a food processor so I used a mixer. It made a whole lot more batter than just for the cupcakes, I had a whole another cake. The cake was sooooo dry, even my husband hated it and he'll eat anything. The icing was just like eating 10x sugar. It didn't have flavor t all. I am very surprised food network allowed this recipe to be in it's collection. Yes, it was cutely decorated but that could have been done using a box mix (which I hate. It was a very dry cake with icing that didn't taste good. The only thing good about it was how it was decorated. Very poor for food network.

These were a huge hit at Easter this year! I had a lot of fun making them. Make sure you have a large food processor though! You can get the white airheads at Party City too. I had no problems making these at all - yummy and visually appealing! Thanks!

I didn't make the cake recipe I just used the decorating part. These turned out so cute, a little time consuming so definatly make sure you are up for it. I really liked this one.

This was a fun and easy recipe for me, a wannabe cook. The fluff frosting was a disaster though.wouldnt get think enough to put on cupcake without it slipping off.so instead i just used regular fluff with food coloring.white airheads/airheads in gereral are very hard to find in my town.overall, great project.

the food processor over flowed because of to much batter. And, the texture was way of. It was way to thick and almost couldn't get it out of the bowl. I recommend the use of an electric mixer instead. But it was very tasty and cute.:

As far as presentation/baking/yield goes, this is perhaps the worst recipe for cupcakes I have ever used. The recipe makes FAR more than 24 cupcakes when filling the liners to 3/4 full as directed. The batter expanded a lot, and overflowed onto the pan (I should have known better when the recipe suggested I spray the top of the pan to prevent the cupcakes from sticking. The cupcakes were difficult to remove since they had spilled over so much, some of the tops separating from the base just so I could lift them out. I probably could have gotten AT LEAST 36 appropriately sized cupcakes with this recipe. With leftover batter, I filled my liners half-way and got PERFECTLY sized cupcakes. Also, I had to make these in my mixer because even with my large-size food processor, there is no way that all of this batter would have fit. (And who makes cupcakes in a food processor anyway??

Aside from the flawed batter, the idea is really cute.

This recipe is sooo good. I loved it but I have to give it four stars because we couldn't find any of the white air heads any where so instead we replaced it with white chocolate baking squares. It turn out great. The rest if the recipe is delcious. I did use different colored peeps though.

4 stars because they're so adorable, but I'd do a few things differently next time. The frosting was a bit too soft & fluffy to really adhere the toppings, so I think a basic buttercream may work better. Also, as another reviewer noted, my Airheads "melted" overnight in the cupcake carrier, so I think these are best made and served same day. Lastly, I had trouble fitting everything on the top of the cupcake, so would probably overfill my cupcakes a bit next time to get a larger surface area to work with on top.
