This is another winner, and as other reviews have stated, adding mushrooms, pea pods, water chestnuts and maybe even some carrots would make it even better. I doubled the marinade and poured it all in at the end and brought to a boil which made a delicious brown sauce. If you omit the pepper flakes, I would cut back on the sugar, but with the heat, the sweetness adds great balance.

@MochaLocaa: Yes, add the marinade as well.
Easy to make and so good and flavorful! My 3-year-old ate the broccoli first and just about licked the plate. I used cooking wine (didn't have sherry and red pepper flakes. I used low-sodium soy sauce and the dish was very well seasoned to my taste.

OOOOHHHH MY GOODNESS!!! Just made this for dinner and it is absolutely delicious!! The hoisin sauce is what makes the dish. I followed recipe exactly and finicky hubby loved it also. Made it with fried rice. May I say again...OOOHHHH MY GOODNESS!!!

I have never made stir fry before and this was so easy. Great marinade for chicken...I used thigh meat instead of breast. Since I'm always trying to get more veggies in each meal, I added carrots, onions and mushrooms to broccoli. Also increased sauce amount as others suggested. LOVE the ginger throughout dish. Wonderful recipe with excellent flavor.

I was finally able to make a successful chicken and broccoli stir fry with this recipe! After reading the reviews I will add water chestnuts and more veggies as well as double the sauce next time i make it. Definitely a keeper.

This is a great "pilot" recipe, that is the ingredients are good and it is easy to put together in a systematic way. However the flavor is not as "big" as we like, so we added more ginger (2x, more hot pepper, and more soy at the table (there isn't a lot of extra sauce, and toasted cashews...a lot of them. With that boost, it became excellent! Will make again often.
