This smelled awful... husband and four-year-old loved it though. Too one dimensional for me though... felt like it was missing something.

This was easy, smelled so good cooking and was delicious, even for sandwiches the next day. I have decided this would be a good "company" meal.

I wanted to try something new in the slow cooker, and this pork shoulder recipe was a pleasant surprise, given its mixed reviews. The pork was so tender at the end of 6 hours in the cooker that it fell apart, so I took the opportunity to add some (cooked soba noodles to the shredded pork and remaining broth and made a wonderful soup. Next time I'll plan to add some vegetables. The chicken stock, soy, and added salt did make this very salty.

The roast was tender and tasty. I ate it straight, used it in lo-mein and made a great Cubano with it. I'll definitely make it again.

Follow the recipe exactly and you will enjoy it so much! The shiitake mushrooms soak up the soup like sponges. I would also add fried tofu and chunks of carrots in the stew.
I didn't use the slow-cooker, rather cooked in a pot for 2 hours and produces similar results.

My kids wouldn't eat it but my husband and I thought it was fair. It was something different to do with pork and something different to put in the crock pot besides pot roast.

I did not have good luck with this one. Perhaps a problem on my end, but the juices seem to have a "burnt" smell while cooking and left the same taste in the meat.

Made this recipe with chow mein noodles and it came out great. I served one batch with the liquid drizzled over noodles. The second helping we ate more as a soup with lots of broth and that tasted even better.

My slow cooker recipes don't usually have lots of flavor but this pork is fantastic. I thickened the sauce with some flour and served it with egg noodles and sauted baby bok choy. My family loved it and I'll be making it again soon.
