Can someone tell me what chocolate wafer cookies are for this recipe? I've searched several stores, but can't find anything. Can I take the filling out of oreos and use the cookie part??

    Thanks!

An excellent Christmas dessert to take to a party or enjoy around the house. Crispy peppermint pieces nicely complement the creamy texture of the bar. Should freeze prior to cutting.

This is not a quick recipe, but it is one that is a hit every time I make it! Even without the candy on top, they are great. The foil in the pan is an important step and really helps get the bars out. Enjoy!

These squares are delicious!! A real rich dessert in a tiny package. My husband doesn't like mint flavor so I eliminated the candy cane topping & made them all year long for all kinds of celebrations/holidays and they are just super without any topping and make a beautiful appearance also! I have added these bars to my traditional chrsitmas cookie list making number 13! Great! :

To those of you that don't like the hard candy canes on top can I suggest using the peppermint striped party mints (Not the chewy ones just the ones that melt in your mouth like cotton candy (party mints. I know everyone hates it when we write in and didn't try the recipe (sorry! but I am about to copy this recipe for Christmas and read how the candy canes were to crunchy and I think I will experiment with it in December. Now that I think of it they might melt but I'll let ya's know in December. Thanks for the heads up.

These are a great alternative for cheesecake and makes it easier to serve at parties. You only need one bar. I used crushed peppermint round candies instead of the candy canes and they worked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed these bars.

Add this one to the family heirloom recipe book, it was a huge hit. I wouldn't call it "easy", maybe easy to medium... I didn't have a food processor, so did everything by hand or hand mixer and it still turned out great!

This was a lot easier to make than I ever expected. The pieces in the middle were a lot like pudding so I would suggest cooking it for at least 30 minutes. Other than that, the entire thing was eaten--it was the hit of the party!
