Too bad that I didn't read more of the reviews before making them!!. My batch came out dry, and even a bit crumbly. Since I had to bake them in 3 different batches all say this: 1st batch, dry (cooked for 12 minutes. 2nd batch I added 1/2 stick of butter to the batter, but also cooked them for 12 minutes; these were better but still on the dry side. Then I read the reviews & figured I left them in for too long. 3rd batch I didn't add anything to the batter, but will take out at 8/9minutes... they look pale, but going to see what happens after they cool...
Oh, I also didn't use the whole bag of chocolate chips because it was way too much.
After cooling off the last batch, I must say they are much, much better. I have an all-clad baking sheet that maybe retains heat better than my others so 12 minutes was way too much time. Based on the rave reviews, I will try again (maybe something went wrong since my sous chef is only 3yrs old.

I made these cookies because I wanted an easy quick recipe and I only had 1 stick of butter that I already melted. This recipe came up in a search, so I went with it. The cookies turned out perfect. What a surprise! The cookie dough was even better! The batch that I dropped out on the pan turned out better than the rolled out ones. They spread out better than the rolled out ones.
This is the only recipe I will use from now on to made CC Cookies.

These cookies don't spread much in the oven, so they came out fat and thick -- which was cute-looking but also tasted more like cakes. Seeing the previous reviews, I decided to pull these out of the oven at about 9minutes. But they still came out a little dry. The taste is good, though, if you like chocolate chip cookies that are not too sweet. I like to microwave the cookies for about 8 seconds on high right before I eat them, just to melt the chocolate chips and they become super yummy!

Amazingly perfect cookies. Finding a perfect chocolate chip cookie, still soft and fluffy can be so difficult. I made these but modified them slightly, replacing the baking soda with 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, and baked small cookies with 3/4" balls for 6 to 8 minutes each, and they came out beautiful. They don't look quite cooked or browned at the time they are removed from the oven, but once cooled, they are perfectly browned on the bottom and soft and taste heavenly! Thanks for this recipe! I'm making cookies for a friend and needed a reliable recipe. I love it!

The cookie dough tastes good, but the cookies come out of the oven too dry and too shiny. The cookies do not spread well either with this recipe. It easily needs another 1/2 cup of butter.

This was the best Chocolate Chip cookie I have made. I did make a few changes because I may be one of the only people who like less choclate chips in their chocolate chip cookies. I added walnuts also. Easy and they get eaten up quickly. Awesome recipe!!!!!

The best chocolate chip cookie recipe debate has been settled. This recipe is by far the easiest, simplest, most normal ingredient chocolate cookie recipe I've ever. These cookies end up coming out thick, soft, and chewy, but if you make smaller cookies they can be perfectly crunchy.
I went on a spree of trying every variation of the classic imaginable; trying out crisco, margarine and trying out the oddest type of flours out there. Save yourself the time/frustration and try this recipe to end your search for the best chocolate chip cookie.
Also, this is one of the few recipes, where there's no need to tweek it, it's just that good.
