adding the strawberry jam to it makes the muffin, it was a little dry but after the jam it was great.

This is a good recipe that can be varied. I made these and instead of making 12 regular muffins, used a mini muffin pan and got 50 bite size ones. Also used sugar free choc chips and splenda for baking to make a nice dessert for my diabetic husband. I didn't use any strawberry jam on these, but they were good without them.

The batter tasted really bitter, but they can out a little sweeter. Instead of adding jam i added vinilla icing, which made them ok.

A little bitter. My kids did not like them at all! If I try them again I'll use milk chocolate.

I just made these muffins for the first time, and they are wonderful. I was having a chocolate craving, and this satisfies that. They are not sweet, but muffins are not supposed to be sweet, that is for cupcakes! Milk chocolate chips might make them sweet, I suppose, if that is what you are looking for. This recipe is a definite keeper!

My 7 year old daughter wanted to make chocolate chip muffins for breakfast and I did not have any recipes for homemade. I went on the Food network website--typed in muffins--found Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins and she made them----they are FABULOUS and they honestly taste like the "Costco" Chocolate Chocolate Chips muffins from the bakery. She made a double batch to freeze some---they are NOT AT ALL salty. Wonderful flavor!!! I hope this helps. This recipe is a definite keeper. I am still licking my fingers from the melting chocolate chips in the center!!!

I LOVE this recipe! NOT salty at all. The reviewer below probably used salted butter instead of unsalted, which upped the salt level in the batter. A common mistake for new cooks. Something I did myself when I made my first batch of cookies at 8th grade.
