I had such high hopes for this cookie, but it was disappointing. It wasn't a bad cookie. It didn't taste awful or anything. It was just very average. I'm afraid it was too much of a good thing - too much going on. I toasted the nuts and coarsely chopped them. I included walnuts, pecans, almonds and pistachios. I also added the oats and Grape-Nuts cereal. I anticipated a very toothy cookie with lots of flavor. Instead I got a chocolate lump (my cookies did not spread much at all filled with the nuts and such and no one flavor rang out. The flavors were muddy. If I had to do again I would only include the walnuts and pecans, along with the oats and cereal. Even then, I just don't think it really is that good a cookie. Won't be making them again.
